About Me

Hi! I’m Alessandra, I’m 14 15, and I love food.

I also have Coeliac disease. I was diagnosed in November 2012 after being sick for about 14 months. I was in hospital for a total of 3 months during that time and visited 70 doctors along with having my blood tested 34 times. I was very ill and can’t thank my family and friends enough for constantly supporting me through misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis! I had been gluten-free since July 2012, but I hadn’t noticed any improvement, so I delved deeper into the world of gluten-free. My eyes were opened and I haven’t turned back since!

I’m now grain-free, Paleo, soy-free, dairy-free, egg-free, and feeling better than ever. Through ‘The Foodie Teen’, I want to provide delicious, tried-and-tested recipes for everyone, including myself! Eventually, I’d love to become vegan and therefore all of my recipes are vegan as well.

In my free time, I love to cook, bake, take millions of pictures, create memories, style and present food, learn (I have completed courses in Child Health and Nutrition from Stanford and Nutrition, Health, and Lifestyle from Vanderbilt University, and am currently taking a course in The Science of Gastronomy from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology!), spend time with my family, decorate cakes, run my two businesses, read classics, play piano, sing opera, and do ballet!

Thank you very much for joining me on this journey, welcome aboard!

    • Thank you so much Jacqueline! Your comment really made my day – thank you! I make recycled paper crafts to fundraise for Coeliac UK and I sell homemade allergen-free chocolates at local craft fairs and health food shops!

Write a little note! Thank you so much for commenting.
